v36.8: Whiskerando Wednesday

Good morning folks,

-slurp-

It is Wednesday, mid-week, hump day, ISO 8601, Wodnesday or whatever else you want to call it.  For those of us who work the typical Monday to Friday work week, this is the day where we reach the climax of our work week and begin the long decent to the weekend (getting over the hump).  Throughout history, one can find references to Wednesday having significance in both culture and religion; it is a very special day.

We have an executive vice president visiting our facility today and as such we need to ensure everyone is dressed appropriately and on their best behavior.  I always found it strange that we would need to dress up when someone from the same company was coming to visit.  Our dress code at work is considered casual and sometimes we need to dress business casual when a client is visiting.  Why do they make a point of enforcing business casual when someone from the same company comes to visit?  Do they not know that our dress code is casual?  Is our office trying to hide something?  Is there really a secret to getting the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar?  I sense a conspiracy.

Allow me to let everyone in on a little secret about the Caramilk bar, there is no secret!  I get a kick out of Cadbury's latest "contest" with the hidden keys inside their chocolate bars for a chance at winning some money.  Do you really think a company that relies on their "Caramilk Secret" is going to willingly give away that "secret" to the general public?  We're talking about a simple chocolate bar with pockets of caramel in it, the only thing they have going for them is the fact people speculate how they got the caramel inside.  Imagine how many bars have sold because people were curious and wanted to see if they could figure it out?  The advertising alone has revolved around this one idea.  If they gave out the "secret" what would they advertise?  How would they sell their product?  What would set them apart from other chocolate bars out there?  I have a question, how do they get that powder fizz in the middle of a fizz candy?  Now THERE is a mystery worth solving.

Of course I'm a fan of the Caramilk bar, I enjoy the soft chocolate with the little pickets of caramel.  In fact, just writing about it makes me want to head over to the vending machine and buy one.  You see what they've done don't you?

Anyway folks, now that I've made you all crave a Caramilk bar, I must be on my way and try to get some work done today.  Remember, just because it looks good to eat, doesn't mean it is good for you.

Cheers,

Al
