v9.3 - Big News INC!!

Morning folks,

{slurp}

Sorry I haven''t been able to write the last couple of days. I''ve been dealing with some personal things that I don''t want let out to the general public (just yet anyway) so I''ve been staying away from most of the public forms of communication so I didn''t let it slip. I do have some exciting news, just can''t tell you all here until I know things are 100% certain.

{slurp}

Life can really throw you some curve balls and we all have our ups and downs. If I had known last week (hell, even last month) what I know today, I would have done so many things very differently. This is why we grow and learn I guess.

{slurp}

I have a friend here at work who sits right next to me. Great guy and we spend quite a bit of time chatting about various different things. Sometimes we get into some deep philosophical discussions which usually leads to many hours at work being used up. Sometimes we''ll even get a few of the other guys in the office to sit in and we all gather around the round table in my cube area and we talk.

{slurp}

Now I''m not genius, but I find it very difficult to believe there is one set pattern which can apply to every single person in the world. One set of rules and conditions which you can use to tell what kind of person you''re dealing with. Yes, there are some tell tale signs you can usually point out which would lead you to believe this person acts like a moron, but there is no almighty "rule of thumb" out there that applies to every single person.

{slurp}

This could be why I don''t believe in things like therapy. I realize there are quite a few years of schooling and certifications needed to become a therapist, but I don''t think you can setup rules and guidelines that apply to every single person in the world. We talk quite a bit about "patterns" and the different "levels" of the human "actions". I don''t want to make it sound like we are a bunch of professors sitting around a library smoking pipes, we are just a bunch of techs sitting around trying to talk about something other than work.

{slurp}

Sometimes something is said that makes me think. I will admit their pattern finding and people classifications are almost always right, they just can''t apply to every single person in the world. There will always be exceptions to the "rule".

{slurp}

Just like when you''re speeding down the road with your wife sitting beside you in the car just about ready to give birth to your child and you get pulled over by the police. I would say 99% of the time the cop will let you go and maybe even give you a police escort to the hospital. Rules and Laws are very grey at the best of times. Someone breaks into your house and threatens your family, you can take their life and call it self defence. However, if a person breaks into your house and trips and falls down the stairs and breaks his leg, he can sue you! What the hell is that all about?

{slurp}

Personally, if someone broke into my house and fell and broke a limb and started swearing he was going to sue me; he probably wouldn''t make it out alive. People like to exploit every loop in the law and most of the time they get away with it. Just like an old friend of mine who used to get speeding tickets and appeal them in court. He would get off from having to pay the ticket and losing points on his license because he would throw some BS defence together and then question whether the radar gun was calibrated recently and such. The guy was brilliant and his knowledge of traffic laws was better than any police officer I ever met. On the other side, you have an old man driving down the road doing 5 over the speed limit and he gets ticketed for speeding. He goes and pays the fine and is done with it.

{slurp}

Where is this fine line between legal and illegal? Well, it isn''t really a line anymore, it is more of a huge grey smear of BS and loop holes. Just like in your personal life, there is no fine line that defines you as a person. Nobody can sit there and tell you what you are because they know the perfect template that you fall into. No, templates are something you can use to guage someone, not define them.

{slurp}

Anyway, I''ve babbled long enough here. I''m sure some kind of shrink would have a field day with my musings. I seem to jump around quite a bit these days and have the strangest things coming out of my mind. Put a template around that one *censored*!

:)

{slurp}

When I find out for sure about my "news", I''ll make sure to let everyone know. Chances are most of you will know before I get a chance to write about it, but I''ll still write about it.

Weeeee

{slurp}

Take care my friends and remember to never conform to what society classifies you as, rise up and be a new template!

Cheers,

Al
