v5.5 - Meh

Morning folks,

{slurp}

Apologize for the later than usual musing this morning. I also apologize for the late late musing yesterday. I actually had it all typed up and saved but forgot to send. Guess I''m still adjusting to being back to work. :)

Didn''t get a chance to stop at Timmy''s this morning so this musing will be short and boring as I''m drinking office blend.

So how is everyone doing this fine morning? Myself, I''m tired and was a wee bit late for work. I personally hate being late for something; and when I awoke this morning to see I was already 30 minutes late for work, I couldn''t help but let loose a few curses and then a smile.

The ride in was uneventful as usual. The only news worthy thing on the radio was about the Queen being in town today. It was actually quite interesting getting caught in the huge escort yesterday on my way home from work. I thought I would be sneaky and take a back road near the airport to avoid some of the backed up traffic. Little did I know, my back road "short cut" would actually take me longer. I was stopped by a massive trail of police/security vehicles on my way through. I didn''t count the number of vehicles, but I would guess there were at least 50. They made their way into the airport area where I''m assuming the Queen had landed (or was landing).

Other than that, nothing super exciting happened yesterday. Work was dead. I don''t think we even had one UNIX call the entire day. We setup the projector in our training room and spend part of the day watching Star Wars Episode 3.

I am getting the feeling some things are going to start happening here. I have a feeling people are going to start quitting real soon and I''ll be one of the last ones remaining. My intent was to come into the office tomorrow and have a chat with my boss about getting packaged out of here. Unfortunatly, one of the first words out of his mouth were about me getting a raise in June with another one before the end of the year. I was taken back and couldn''t bring myself to dropping the question. You see, I do care about the people who work here despite the company I work for. Some days, the people I work with are enough to keep me here and other days it is my family that keeps me here.

The promise of a raise is something to look forward to. Of course if it is a slap in the face raise (like most I''ve seen here), then I will use it as fuel to get the hell out of here. Meh

Anyway folks, I need to get some things done here this morning. I''m already an hour or so behind schedule and I only have 2 days left this month. Next week I''ll be on course here in town so I may not get any musings out at all. We''ll see.

Take care my friends and remember to brush your teeth.

Cheers,

Al
